The Inspiration: A Campus Life That Doesn’t Run 9–5
Why did I create Study Buzz!? When I arrived at the University of Tennessee, one thing became clear right away: student life doesn’t follow business hours. We study late, wake up early, juggle classes, jobs, internships, organizations, and the pressure to perform. Yet the places meant to support us—coffee shops, cafés, convenience spots—closed too early or didn’t offer what we needed.
Research shows that college students rely heavily on caffeine for cognitive performance, especially during demanding academic periods (Healthline). But accessibility doesn’t always match our schedules. That gap sparked something in me. I didn’t want another traditional café. I wanted a place that matched the real student lifestyle. That’s when Study Buzz began to take shape.
The Problem We’re Solving: Create Energy, Convenience & Comfort
The problem wasn’t that students lacked caffeine options — the problem was control, convenience, and customization.
Students were creating their own drinks at home, combining energy drinks with flavored syrups, hydration packets, and supplements just to create their “perfect study drink.” Others were stuck choosing between overpriced coffee, inconsistent hours, or options with ingredients they didn’t love.
Industry data shows a major rise in customizable beverage trends, especially among Gen Z consumers who prioritize personalization (Forbes). Study Buzz was built exactly for that shift.
Study Buzz solves three major student pain points:
1. Limited Late-Night Drink Options
Traditional shops close early, leaving students without energizing options when they need them most—especially during finals week.
2. Lack of Customization
Most menus are fixed taking away the ability for people to create the exact drink they are craving. Study Buzz lets every student build their own drink from scratch based on taste, dietary needs, and study goals.
3. No Student-Centered Space
Students needed a space designed for students—not just a coffee shop, but a creative, empowering beverage bar focused on productivity and self-expression.
What Inspired Me Personally to Create Study Buzz
My internships in operations, sales, and HR all taught me something different: how to understand people, how to communicate, and how to build solutions that work in the real world.
Studying abroad in Barcelona also shifted my perspective. I saw community-centered cafés built to encourage connection, collaboration, and creativity. They weren’t rushed, corporate environments—they were warm, functional, and designed for the people who used them. That stuck with me.
I wanted to bring that feeling home.

What I’ve Learned – Create the Business with me!
Building Study Buzz has been one of the most meaningful learning experiences of my college career. Every stage has taught me something new:
1. Your Customers Will Shape Your Idea
Conversations with classmates influenced everything—flavor choices, branding, hours, pricing, and the entire “build-your-own-drink” concept. Listening is the #1 entrepreneurial skill.
2. Branding Matters More Than You Think
Students want something that feels fun, modern, and shareable. A strong visual identity can turn a simple drink into a memorable experience. Branding is connection.
3. The Student Community Is Powerful
Friends helped test flavors, classmates offered feedback, mentors gave guidance, and campus organizations showed enthusiasm. Study Buzz exists because of community support — the energy behind this brand isn’t just caffeine, it’s people.
4. Entrepreneurship Requires Adaptability
What I thought Study Buzz would be at the start is completely different from what it has become. Ideas evolve. You learn, pivot, grow, and keep building.
